Taupo is pretty hilly by comparison – in Taupo you start with hills and they just carry on (from memory)… This 70ks start’s relatively flat for 22ks then a good honest climb for 13ks then all down hill/flat back to the start. One major difference is that there will be a LOT less other bikes around you.
What a great event, I had a blast! Thank you for organising a women’s only cycle event. I’m looking forward to next year. Will you be putting up all the times?
If you can’t remove them are you happy to ride without resting on them? We’d have to disqualify you if you did and who can be bothered with that sort of hassel??
$40 each for the 22k teams fun ride.
$50 for the 44k recreational race
$55 for the 70k competitive race
Entry includes a pair of Merino socks from Ice Breaker, a small bottle of bubbles from Lindauer, post race nibbles from the Lone Star wanaka + the chance at heaps of prizes… oh and %20 off everything at Sarah Ulmers online activewear store http://www.sub.org.nz
$20 for high school students for either category – No Lindauer for the school students – sorry but that wouldn’t be a good look!
Hey if any of you need accommodating in Wanaka we have a nice big apartment – sleeps up to 7 adults, $400 for the weekend. 5mins from race start/finish

Yes.
Can my daughter enter the 22km team? She’s 10 years old.
If you are confident she is up to it we would love to have her! You will be responsible for droping her off or picking her up at Cardrona of course.
I am going to enter the 44km, but would like to think i would be race fit to do the 70km, can i upgrade my entry if i feel i am capable>
For sure. Ideally give us a few days notice. All the best for your training!
how does the 70km compare to Taupo??? – we are riding the first 80km at Taupo this year but looking for something different for next year.

A great day, really well organised and the bubbles and wrap went down far too easily. See you next year.
Will the results and times be posted on the website?

That would be great if you could hold my entry fee for next year. Do I need a promo code or anything?
Jen
Nope, just remind us next year with an email and a link back to these comments will do.
Sorry, can’t make this year’s event, is it possible to have a refund? Thanks.
Hi, I have to cancel my entry unfortunately. Do you refund the entry fee?
Unfortunately not at this late stage but we can hold it over until next year for you.
Hi i have ordered two tops from you guys when do they turn up?? It was quite a while ago i ordered them and would like to wear one on the race day
Hi Susan – they will be in your race pack you get at registration either on the Friday or Saturday morning. We’re getting them all printed together.
Can I use a tri bike for this race or is a road bike mandatory?
Sure – Tri Bikes are fine but just take the aero bars off thanks.

Ah perfect, I can’t remove mine but I definitely don’t want to cause any crashes so I’ll stay on the hoods.
Please can you tell me what time the 70Km starts and what time is prizegiving?
70k starts 9am with a 1pm Prize Giving

Can I suggest the entry fee is no higher than $50???? Thanks
How much does it cost to enter?
Still negotiating that entry fee… it’ll be less than $100 but more than $10.
